Faith Barr is a native of the Hudson Valley, fully imbued with the richness of its renaissance culture.

Faith’s early years had a strong emphasis on her spirituality, healing, dreamwork, openness to the creative spirit and the flexibility to accept life’s changes.  Together, her family studied Christianity, Yoga, Tai Chi, Sufism, Buddhism and Transcendental Meditation.

After a chance encounter with Erin Schulman in 1995, she was inspired to delve into a solo exploration of yoga.  Years later, she had the opportunity to study Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with Erin, and several courses of alignment based, grace filled yoga infused with poetry and humor.  Faith’s first yoga studio experience was Hudson Valley Yoga when it opened in her hometown.  There, she was initiated into asana, pranayama and meditation work with teacher Alex Auder.

Faith is a Level 2 Reiki practitioner. She completed the Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training in 2003, Satya Yoga’s 200 hour training in 2009, and began teaching Yin Yoga and Mudras in 2020. She became certified to practice One Light Healing Touch in 2024. Faith has her Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from Empire State College. Faith is currently studying Crystal Healing.

A spiritual being to her core, Faith sees the inner glow in all, and, through her gentle but powerful and intuitive style, unifies that inner glow with the outer self, leaving her students with a profound sense of understanding, unity and peace.

Faith breathes, sings, writes, colors, loves her family and walks her dog in Red Hook, New York.
